Some (even unstructured) Open datasets have been published in Italy, mostly by Public Sector bodies.
The recent launch of the Italian Governmental portal www.dati.gov.it will enable further improvements.
The supporters of Apps4Italy (PAs at national, regional and local level) make available Open datasets: www.dati.piemonte.it (Piedmont region) is the first Italian portal for the re-use of Public Sector Information, followed by www.dati.emilia-romagna.it (Emilia Romagna region) and Veneto with dati.veneto.it.
There is also at regional level Firenze with a lot of datasets: http://dati.comune.firenze.it/
Open Data can be found in the following repositories as well:
- Decoro Urbano, a service like FixMyStreet, with geodata dump at the bottom of this page
- dati.istat.it, www.istat.it, the Italian National Institute of Statistics, which provide structured datasets (http://www.istat.it/it/prodotti/banche-dati)
- www.publicdata.eu, which also encompasses data from Italian Public Administrations
- http://it.ckan.net/package, the Italian chapter of the Comprehensive Knowledge Archive Network provided by the Open Knowledge Foundation
- http://www.spaghettiopendata.org/dati
- www.gfoss.it, with its dowload section (link: http://download.gfoss.it/) and geodata (link: http://www.gfoss.it/drupal/geodati) resources
- http://data.cnr.it/site/, by the Italian National Research Council
If you want to sugest a specific dataset, you can do it via CKAN Italy. Remember to use the “apps4italy” tag!
